Painting the grids of the home can be a complex job with catastrophic results if it is not done well. Fortunately, with the right advice, this task can be much simpler than it seems.
Oxide
One of the most important steps when painting the grids is the removal of rust from the metal surface, because if we don´t do that, the chances that the work is being damaged are quite high. Before starting to paint, we must clean the surface as best as possible and remove mold or corrosion residues that the structure may have. We can use a sandpaper or a paintbrush with hard bristles.
Color
The first thing we should focus on when choosing the color of our grid, is to think about what we want to achieve with it. We can help us with a palette of colors that matches our interior design, although most often people prefers to choose a neutral color as white or black. However, it is not a strict rule: you can use a striking color and turn it into the focal point of your decor.
Paint
One of the most important aspects of this process is the correct choice of painting. Since most bars are located outdoors, it is ideal to select an anti-corrosion paint, as well as sealants that prevent the appearance of mold and help reduce rust. In addition to this, we require the right tools, so choosing a comfortable and practical brush is imperative. When you start painting, you need to apply a primer coat to help seal the color, which also produces a full coverage and a professional finish. We must let each of the layers dry before applying another and the same with the sealer. It is also advisable to take care of the space around the grid: using canvas underneath the frame is a professional technique that works better than plastic or newspaper to protect the paint floor.
